Crazy Heart

We watched Crazy Heart tonight with Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Jeff Bridges was great in that movie- I especially liked the music - T Bone Burnett produced the music for this movie. You should check it out. Also Jeff won the oscar for Best Actor for this role. If you remember he was also nominated for a best actor award for the Last Picture Show in 1971 - it only took him almost 40 years to get the award.

Saturday

How was your Saturday. I started my Saturday off with coffee at my favorite coffee shop and then took a little driving tour of the Finger Lakes - first stop Skaneateles - walked around town and checked out the pier - then to Moravia for breakfast/lunch at a nice little diner there - then ended up in Aurora on Cayuga Lake - it was beautiful - walked around town and checked out the Aurora Inn - what a beautiful place - Pleasant Rowland (American Girl founder) redid the whole place and it is beautiful. She put a lot of money into the town and she did a great job. You should check it out.

Weekend

Any plans for the weekend? I don't know what I am doing tomorrow!! Maybe I will do something maybe I won't. Sometimes I just like to read mags or books all day. It is supposed to be in the 70s with maybe some showers. I do have a lot of gift cards from my birthday to use up - Maybe I will go shopping.

Valerie Bertinelli

You know you are getting old (older) when Valerie Bertinelli is on the front of AARP. She turned 50 this year and also she is getting married!!

Cute Shoes

I saw these shoes in Target and had to buy them - they are too cute for words - they are actually comfortable. I just love them!

Mosaic picture frame

Here is my first attempt at mosiacs. If you check the picture there are broken pieces of china. I got them from the Rescue Mission. I also had a lot of the buttons and did buy some other things from Michael's. As you can see I do like pink and green!

Plates on the Wall

Here is a picture of my plates and some pictures on the wall. What do you think? The little pictures are actually cards that my good friend sent me. I thought that they were so cute that I framed them. The bigger picture (needlepoint) was a gift.

LOST

I can't believe that Lost is almost done with - just the finale on Sunday. Tuesday's episode was good. I don't know what Desmond is doing trying to get everyone together at the musical concert. I can't believe that Jack stood up to the plate and is now going to be the new Jacob. I am really going to miss the show!

Jackie Kennedy

Today is Jackie Kennedy's anniversary of her death - 16 years!! I can't believe she has been gone that long. It was 9 years ago I went down with my mother and my cousins and visited her exhibit of ionic fashion at the Metropolitan Museum. The exhibit had over some 80 pieces of her original clothes and accessories. It was so neat to be there and see it. If it every comes around again you should definitely stop by. I did pick up the book about her collection.

Twilight - Breaking Dawn

It is official - Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene got their deals from Summit - they are being paid 1.25 million for each part of Breaking Dawn. Yes they are making two movies. All is well in twilight land. Everybody can relax now. They start filming in November but where will they film? Rumor has it that Summit filed some incorporation papers for TSBD: Lousiana, LLC. What do you think about them filming Breaking Dawn down in the bayou? I can't see it at all - we will just have to wait and see!

The Travoltas

Congratulations are in order for the Travolta family. After much heartache for the past 16 months, John Travolta and Kelly Preston are pregnant!! I am so happy for them.

Upcoming Summer Movie Releases

What movies are you looking forward to seeing this summer? I am looking forward to Sex and the City 2, of course Eclipse, and the Last Airbender by M. Night Shayamalan - Jackson Rathbone (the Twilight Saga) is in it. They are also doing a couple of remakes - the A Team and the Karate Kid. Personally I think they should leave the original movies alone - they were good to begin with especially Karate Kid.

Color

What is your favorite color ? I have a few favorite colors - I love greens - all different kinds of greens. I also like pink and blue.

Weekend

How was everyone's weekend? I had a lot of running around to do with my mother, haircut, library, grocery store, etc. Also went to a talent show - that was great, went for a walk at the canal - beautiful day and had a little Mexican food. We also did some things around the house. All in all it was a good weekend.

Talent Show

We went to a great talent show tonight. One of our favorite persons sang and did a great job - should have won!! I can't believe how many talented kids are out there. I always wished I could sing - my brother got that gene - oh well! Support our children and talents!

LOST

What did you think about Lost? Now we now that Jacob and MIB are brothers and the Adam and Eve is the mother and MIB body. After seeing Kate and Jack in that little clip from season 1 it made me want to go back and watch Season 1 all over again. Jacob made MIB a smoke monster by putting him into the creek toward the light. I am still confused and oh so many more questions!! Only one more regular episode before the big finale!! I can't believe this show has been on 6 years.

UP

We just watched Up - it was a good movie. The animation was awesome - so life like. You should definitely rent it!

SNOW!!

Can you believe that is has been snowing since last night and this morning. There has been one other Mother's Day when we had snow - what is going on with this planet? Hope everyone is enjoying their Mother's Day.

Saturday Night Live

Are you going to watch Saturday Night Live with Betty White? It should be good - she is one amazing women. Remember the Mary Tyler Moore Show and also the Golden Girls - she was great in them. She was also good in Boston Legal.

The House of Tomorrow

I just finished reading this book - it was really good. A very different kind of book - it is about a 16-year-old boy who has lived with his grandmother for 11 years in a geodesic dome house in the hill in Iowa and is homeschooled. Sebastian becomes friends with a family (heart recipient) and they introduced him to all the things that he has missed out on. - I don't want to give too much away but needless to say it was one of those books you can't put down. I couldn't sleep a couple of nights so I read it and finished it. You should definitely read it.

Mother's Day

What are you all doing for Mother's Day? I am having a brunch for Mom - it should be nice. The weather won't be though - they are expecting some snow flurries - UGH!!

GLEE

I watched Glee last night off the internet. It was great. They are bringing back all the old songs from my generation. I just love it. I am also loving Emma Pillsbury's (guidance counselor and Will Schuester's love interest) clothes and jewelry. Whoever their costume person is I want to know where they buy her clothes. She wears some great outfits.

Jango

Do you know what Jango is ? I do - it is a music station on the internet that is free. You put in what your likes are and they play them for you and also play you music of up and coming people - you can either make or break them. I enjoy listening to music at work when I am not listening to the doctors. What do you like to listen to? I enjoy some oldies - ABBA, Bee Gees, Doobie Brothers (I am really dating myself here) also some current groups - Kings of Leon (recommendation from niece), The Fray, Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift - my stations are endless. I have a Zune and have to figure out how to get music from Itunes onto it. I do have some of my CDs on there. If you haven't tried Jango please do ! You will definitely like it.

Water for Elephants

I read a great book a couple of weeks ago. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. If you haven't read it you should. It was a great book - I did not want it to end. The characters were great and also it is about the circus. The details about the circus are amazing. It is also going to be turned into a movie starting Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, Christoher Waltz (he won an academy award this past March) and Hal Holbrook. They start filming in June - they might be coming up to Ithaca - Cornell (the main character is going to the veterinarian school there). You should check it out!

LOST-SPOILERS

Lost was so sad last night. A lot of action too. I cried when Jin and Sun died. It was so sad. My cousin said she was sobbing the rest of the night. Hopefully in the end the sideways reality is the true reality because then Jin & Sun would still be alive. Sayid took one for the team - he redeemed himself also. I think Locke needs everyone dead before he can get off the island. I can't believe there are only a few more episodes left. I will be sad when it is done but I think it is time

Birthday Gifts

I received some very lovely birthday gifts last week. As you all know I do love anything Twilight!! My nieces gave me a Bella Jacket - one of the coats that she wears in Twilight- It is so cute- blue (one of my favorite colors).

I also received Susan Branch's Recipe Scrapbook Binder.

Up in the Air

We watched this movie last night- I thought it was great. Everyone should watch it and see why George Clooney, Anna Kendrick (Jessica from Twilight) and Vera Farmiga all received Oscar nominations and also Golden Globe nominations for this movie. It was really well done. Also if you didn't know when they showed the people responding to getting fired - not by George or Anna, those are not actors but real people who had just lost their jobs. They thought they were being videotaped for a documentary. Yous should definitely rent it!
