Lost

I thought Lost was great last night - It was good to see Sun and Jin together if not in the real time line at least on the sideways time line. It is interesitng that she is only speaking Korean and not English. Also at the end when Jack went to see her and brought her a pad to write with - could that actually be Flocke - taking Jack's presence to get Sun to go with him. I can't believe that there are only 6 episodes left before the finale. I am going to miss this show!!

Best Friends

Many of you know that my birthday is in about a month - the big 50!! My best friend Mary is coming in from Texas for it!! I can't wait. We usually go antiquing, do Skaneateles, lunch, dinner, watch movies, read magazines and celebrate the moments of our life with International House of Coffee - that has been a joke with the two of us. We have been having the little moment with the coffee for about 30 years now also we have mint milano cookies with it. I am so excited !!

Spring

Can you believe the upcoming weather - it is going to be in the 70's this coming weekend - I can't wait - it will be nice having a warm Easter instead of a cold wintery one.

Books

As you can see from the books by the bed I am reading, yet again (fourth time) Eclipse. I am just getting ready for the movie coming out in June. It is a long book so I need plenty of time to read it and also I just finished watching my DVD of New Moon.

Beautiful Mornin

Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'
Oh, What a Beautiful Day
I got a beautiful feeling
Ev'erthing' goin' my way!
(Richard Rogers/Oscar Hammerstein)

Enjoy your sunny Sunday!

I know I will !!

MOM

As most of you know my mom is coming home in a few days - we spent most of the morning and early afternoon getting her house ready, washing curtains, cleaning the bathrooms, etc. Earlier in the week we put in the toilet handles, shower handle, rail down the stairs, rail out the back door, etc. Just a few more things to do and she will be all set. Can't wait to have her home!!!

NCAA

It was a very sad night last night for Syracuse, New York and Ithaca, New York. Syracuse University lost to Butler - they were awful. Cornell at least tried. I felt bad for Cornell since so many people were there rooting them on at the Carrier Dome. Maybe next year.

Pussywillows

You know it is spring when the pussy willows come out - we have a big tree/bush in the backyard. These are one of my favorite trees. When I was little we had a huge bush by the driveway and I always liked them. When I sw the bush in the backyard I was so excited.

Lost

What did you think of last night's episode - I thought it was great - so it is definitely good versus evil. How cool was it that Hurley can talk to dead people - I am guessing he is comfortable with it now since he has talked to a lot of them - Charlie, his friend, Isabella - etc.

I thought Richard did a wonderful acting job - he should definitely be up for an Emmy.

Lost

Don't forget to watch Lost tonight - it is supposed to be a Richard episode - can't wait to see his back story - looking forward to it!!

Early Birthday Present

I received an early birthday present from my nieces today- yes you guessed it the New Moon Two Disc DVD - I am so excited - I can't wait to watch it again and also all the extra stuff.

Did you see the new Eclipse poster that came out today - it is awesome.

SU WINS!!!

I hope you all watched the Syracuse - Gonzaga game - SU won!!! It was a good game.

I am giving a shout out to our good friends Nancy & Tom who threw a great St. Patrick's Day party tonight. Great food, good conversation, NCAA games, poker, apples to apples and the best green velvet cake!! Thanks you guys!!

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Well SU beat Vermont - thank goodness!! I k now we play on Sunday - who we play I don't know - I think it is some from today - all say a prayer that we beat them.

Friday, March 19, 2010

We saw a great movie tonight - Bandslam - about a high school music band - you should check it out - it was quite good. Rated PG - great music - great characters. Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical is in it also.

Well all you Twihard's tonight at 12:00 midnight is the release of the New Moon DVD!! Are you waiting in line to get yours - I am hoping to get mine for my birthday - can't wait - have already seen it three times! Yes I do like to watch my favorite movies a couple of times. Also just 102 days until Eclipse comes out !!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Well the NCAA's started today - SU plays tomorrow at 9:40 p.m. against Vermont- they better win!! It will get ugly in Syracuse if they don't win.

Well spring is finally here - the past couple of days and the next couple of days are going to be gorgeous - just in time for the official first day of spring on Saturday - but as you know this is upstate New York so anything, and I do mean anything (snow- sh!!) can happen. Enjoy the nice weather - I do believe next week we are back to the 40s.

St. Patrick's Day

Well I hope everyone is celebrating St. Patrick's Day sensibly today. I did wear green today. We had our corn beef and cabbage on Sunday so we are covered.

Lost

What did you think about Lost? I do think we are in for a fight. I do like the sideway reality of Sawyer- he makes a good cop! Hopefully Claire will become her old self again.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Monday, March 15, 2010

Well some of you will remember Peter Graves - the man from Mission Impossible and some of you will remember him from Seventh Heaven. He passed away yesterday, but did you know that his brother was James Arness from Gunsmoke - I never knew that.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Well today was kinda a dreary, windy day - a perfect day to make corn beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day. I got started a little late but it was delicious. Kinda laid around and just read, played on the computer, whatever. The kind of day you should have every once in a while to rejuvenate.

So what do you think about my new background for my blog? I just love it. Hope you do too!!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Saw Julie & Julia again last night- I just love that movie - Meryl Streep did such a great job as Julia Childs - she amazes me. Both times before seeing that movie I ate because if you don't eat before you see that movie it will make you so hungry. The food that they cook - it is so tantalizing - and the butter - I am surprised Julia Childs was not 300 pounds. Her apartment in Paris was beautiful. She would have been a great friend to have. So check the movie out.

Well today has been a little busy - we had coffee with good friends of ours, went shopping, visited my mother in her rehab place. She is doing well - did stairs yesterday - yahoo!! Did a little cleaning at our house. Checked my mother's house out and did some stuff there. The wind today has been wild. Went into Home Depot and almost didn't make it in there because there was about a 50 mph wind gust. Made some oatmeal cookies and now am going to veg - maybe read a book. So what are you doing tonight?

Friday, March 12, 2010

Well the weekend is finally here!!! Thank goodness. So what are you all doing this weekend anything interesting. i am not sure what I am doing, probably just cleaning. The St. Patrick's Day parade is tomorrow - I will probably watch some of it on the TV.

Please wish my cousin/god child a happy birthday today!! She is the one I went and visited in LA. She is still in her early 30s - oh to be that again !!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Saw A movie tonight called Love Happens with Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston - it was quite good. We both really liked it. Jennifer Aniston did a good job. You should see it.

Well SU is not longer in the Big East Conference - they lost to Georgetown. It is so depressing - hopefully they will last a little longer in the NCAA's in a few weeks. They better get back on track.

Well today was the day - the Eclipse trailer came out - boy it was really good. I think they did a great job on it - hopefully the movie will be just as good. We have about 3 1/2 months to wait until the movie comes out - I will probably read the book again so everything is fresh in my mind. Can't wait!!!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Anyone going to the St Patrick's parade this weekend? I am probably going to watch it on the television. I hear it might rain. At least it isn't snow. Any plans for St. Patrick's Day - we are going to a party - it should be a lot of fun.

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning from Twilight-New Moon have a new movie coming out called The Runaways - some of you might be familiar with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts but Joan Jett was in a band before that called the Runaways - actually that was the first all girl band back in the 70's even before the Go Go's and the Bangles - I am really dating myself here. I hear the movie is pretty good and that Dakota and Kristen sound great. If you get a chance check it out.

As most of you know I love the twilight books and movies - well one of the stars of Twilight Rob Pattinson is in a new movie coming out this weekend - Remember Me. It has been getting great reviews so if you have a chance you should check it out.

Well what did you think about Lost last night. I thought it was pretty good - I liked seeing Ben as a teacher and also with Alex. He did the right thing at the end. Also seeing Richard and his story. I also liked at the end when Jack and Hurley made it back to the beach and saw everyone. I do believe there is going to be a big fight at the end - I hope no one else dies.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

The other restaurant I took my cousin Mary Pat to was Beso which is Eva Longoria's and Chef Todd English's restaurant. It was beautiful. The food was great. The only complaint I have is that it was so dark you could barely read the menu - I had to look at it up against the candle votive. We had steak and shared a hazelnut chocolate torte dessert. That was delicious. There were probably some stars there but I couldn't tell you because I couldn't see anything.

My two cousins and I went to a couple of restaurants while I was in Los Angeles. I wanted to go to The Ivy which is a famous place to see celebrities. It was like a English Cottage with a white picket fence right in the middle of downtown LA. It had wrought iron tables with flowered pillows. The food was delicious. We had these summer salads and also had lobster ravioli. We split two desserts - an apple berry crumble and a plate of different cookies. Our waiter was very nice and also told us the most famous person he has waited on was Tom Cruise and also Amy Adams. We didn't see any stars thought.

As you know when we were out in LA we went to Warner Brother's studio. One of the most famous television shows was filmed there and they kept one of the sets in a building just like it was on tv. It was the coffee shop from Friends - check it out.

Well it was a long day especially when the sun was out bright and shining in the sky.
Tonight is Lost . Can't wait - just 10 more weeks until the finale. I have been watching Lost since the beginning. I got to tell you right now I am a little lost with everything but I trust the creators and writers to wrap it all up together so that we can understand it. I will say this that the first season was probably the best season - never saw anything like the first show ever. Will talk more tomorrow.
Well it is going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood today - sunny and in the high 40s. The past couple of days have been weird - seeing the sun - I have to get used to it. Hope you all have a good day doing whatever you do!

Monday, March 8, 2010

We also went into a building that had a lot of the cars that were used in their movies - Batmobile, bat motorcycle, car from the Matrix, Nerd Herd car, Austin Power's van, Gran Torino from the movie.

When I was in LA last week my cousin and I went to Warner Brother's Studio for a tour. We decided that Universal Studios would be too much and I am past riding rides. If you go to LA you have to do Warner Brothers. It was great. We had a great guide. There were only 8 of us on this little tram. We went to different soundstages. We actually went on the set of Charlie Sheen's Two and a half men. They were on hiatus because Charlie was in rehab. We got to sit in the tv audience chairs and checked out their sets. It was really cool. they also have a neighborhood with houses that have been used in a lot of movies and shows. Right now they have different TV shows crews working in them - Chuck, The Mentalist. We also drove on a dirt road that looked like we were in a jungle - that was where they actually shot Jurassic Park. They were setting up a shoot for Chuck while we were there. We saw the building that they used for ER and also some subway tracks where they had filmed the show Forgotten. I had actually seen the show that they filmed on those tracks the night before I got to LA. Cold Case was doing some shooting there too.

Well what did you think about the oscars? I didn't get to watch all of it but I taped it. There were some beautiful dresses and also some duds. Charlize Theron what was she thinking about the things on her chest - ugh. She should know better.
Well four out of six isn't bad. I really though Avatar would get it but I am glad about Hurt Locker. Sandra Bullock was a shoo in but I thought they might give it to someone else.

Congratulations to all the Winners!!

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Well - what do you think about the dresses on the red carpet - boy are they beautiful - a lot of gold and silver. And the jewels !!

So far I think the most gorgeous dress is Sandra Bullock's. It is just beautiful.
Well the red carpet coverage is starting!! Who do you think is going to win?

Here are my predictions:

Best Picture Avatar
Best Actor Jeff Bridges
Best Actress Gabourey Sibides
Best Supporting Actor Christopher Waltz
Best Supporting Actress Monique
Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow

We will see tomorrow if I am right !!

Well we took a little road trip today to Skaneateles - if you are not familiar with Skaneateles it is the gateway to the Fingerlakes. It is a beautiful, picturesque town on Skaneateles Lake where they have gorgeous older homes. There is a main street with nice shops and restaurants.
The sun is out!!!

Saturday, March 6, 2010

So have you seen any of the movies that are up for best picture? I have seen District 9 which was pretty good. I do believe that it is a tight race between Avatar and Hurt Locker which is kinda ironic since the directors of both films, James Cameron and Katherine Bigelow, were married at one point and now divorced. I think everyone is going to expect Avatar to win but Hurt Locker will probably take it.

Who do you think is going to win for best actress? Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep or Gabourey Sidibe? I did see Meryl Streep in Julie & Julia and she did do Julia Child's role perfect. But she has won in the past so maybe they will give someone else a chance.

Famous Landmarks:

While I was out in Los Angeles I saw quite a few famous landmarks - Capital Records Building, Hollywood Sign, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Queen Mary, Warner Brother's Studio, Rodeo Drive, Judy Garland's hand and foot prints -
