Breaking Dawn I Movie Poster

Here is the official Breaking Dawn movie poster - also they are going to show the trailer at the MTV Awards on June 5, 2011. Can't wait to see it - only 172 more days till the movie!! Yeah!!

What I have been reading lately

I have read few books lately. First off I just read Good Stuff: reminisce about my father Cary Grant by Jennifer Grant - It was a great book - you really got to see what a great father he was. He really loved his daughter. You should definitely give it a read.

I think I love you by Allison Pearson - In 1974 Wales, 13-year-old Petra is in love with David Cassidy, an obsession she shares with her best friend, Sharon. When they hear that Cassidy is playing a concert in London, the girls sneak away to see him, bringing Petra into brief contact with Bill, who writes for The Essential David Cassidy Magazine. Nearly 25 years later, Petra is separated and seeing how she had sacrificed her ambitions for her husband's when, after her mother's funeral, she discovers a letter her mother had intercepted years before. The letter was informing Petra she had won the Ultimate David Cassidy Quiz, and her prize was a trip to meet the star in California. A magazine picks up the story of Petra's missed opportunity, and suddenly Petra and Sharon, along with Bill, who now works for this magazine, are headed to Las Vegas for a belated meeting. Petra has a piercing wit and a boundless charm, but it's Pearson's insights into friendship, celebrity worship from the inside out, and the knocks you take in life that create a winning novel of hope, lost and found (by Publisher's Weekly) - I love this book - I too was that girl back in 1974 who was in love with David Cassidy - I never got to a concert of his though. It was a real trip down memory lane - definitely a read!!

Prom & Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg - this is a story at a preppy school in Connecticut just like Pride & Prejudice with the same characters but with a modern twist. Just a little FYI Elizabeth is currently the director of global publicity for Stephenie Meyer for Little, Brown. She has another book out the Lonely Hearts Club - that was good too.

Favorite Person's Bridal Shower

I threw one of my favorite people a bridal shower along with my mother. It was yesterday - it was a daisy themed one. I had a lot of ideas that I got from another blog. Hope you enjoy the pictures - I made a towel cake with real towels. Everyone thought it was a real wedding cake - I thought it turned out pretty good. I also had tables with mason jars filled with lemons and daisy's in them. I made gingham yellow and gingham green table runners. I had garlands of daisy's everywhere. I designed the cake which our local grocery store made. I bought the watering can at Michael's and told them exactly what I wanted - I thought it came out great. We had appetizer's first - black bean and corn salsa, spinach artichoke dip and cheese and crackers. For food we had wraps and pita sandwiches, fruit salad which I put into a basket that I made out of a watermelon, pasta salad and caesar salad. our little favors were little pots with m & m's with the names of the bride and groom and their wedding date. It was such a good time. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The bride received many gifts. I also made a picture frame for them to put their wedding picture in. Enjoy the pictures!!

Congratulations Marie!!

Marie Osmond got married this Wednesday to her first husband Steven Craig on her son's and mother's birthday. She wore the same dress that she wore 30 years ago!! I can't believe she fit into it. It is a beautiful and simple dress. I do wish them well.

Winter's Bone

We watched Winter's Bone tonight- I wasn't sure I was going to like this movie but I thought it was very well done. It is about 17-year-old Ree Dolly who is trying to keep her family intact when her father is arrested and then jumps bail. Set in the Ozarks this movie was a bit hard to watch. Ree's father has put up their house and land for bail and if he doesn't show for the trial they will lose it all. This movie takes you up into the hills of the Ozark Mountains and some very shady characters (mostly her family). Jennifer Lawrence is Ree and I got to tell you she did a fantastic job. She learned to skin a squirrel, shoot a gun and fight for this role. I am glad she did get an Oscar nomination she definitely deserved it.

Keep an eye out for Jennifer Lawrence she is starring in the new trilogy The Hunger Games in the lead role Katniss Everdeen. After seeing this movie she will do a great job in that role too. You should definitely watch the movie!!

This movie also won a lot of awards and took Grand Jury Prize Winner at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

2011 Met Gala

This past Monday was the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala and all turned out to remember the late great Alexander McQueen. The dresses were gorgeous!! Here are a few of my favorite!!
