Fashion from the Emmy's

Who do you think is the best dressed and the worst dressed? Here are my picks for the best dressed. I thought Lea Michele's dress was gorgeous. I also like Kelly Osborne's. I absolutely loved Claire Dane's dress. Tina Fey's Dress was beautiful too!

The worst dressed - I didn't like January Jones dress or Anna Paquin's dress.

Melissa & Joey

I watched this show on the ABC Family network. It stars Melissa Jo Hart and Joey Lawrence. Melissa is a council woman who ends up having her niece and nephew come live with her. Joey is a commodities trader who becomes bankrupt, loses his job and his wife divorces him. He becomes a nanny to the two kids. I thought it was funny - it really isn't a kid friendly show. It is meant for adults. I have watched other shows on the ABC Family network that were definitely not for families - I would say you should definitely give it a try.

Adam - Hugh Dancy & Rose Byrne

We watched this movie tonight. It was very good, quirky, made me laugh, made me cry - it is about a 28-year-old young man with Asperger's syndrome. A beautiful teacher Beth moves into a nearby apartment, strangely awkward Adam (Hugh Dancy), breaks through his limited social abilities and flirts with the young woman in this romance. It is definitely a movie to see! I would highly recommend it.

Hollywood News

Here is some news from Hollywood!

The Travolta's had a baby shower this weekend. They are expecting a boy!! I am so happy for them. Some happiness after all the sadness that they had. Here is a pic of their cake from their baby shower

Dancing with the stars is starting soon and the rumor has it that David Hasselhoff, Bristol Palin, maybe Kristie Alley might do a spin around the floor - I can't believe it is that time again!

The Emmy's are Sunday - are you going to watch - I can't wait. I especially love from the red carpet on E!!

Well the divorce is final between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren!! I hope that she can get on with her life and keep her children out of the spotlight.

Do you think Mariah Carey is pregnant or not? Recent pictures show that she just might be. They have been pretty coy about it.

Well that is all for now!!

The Brothers Warner

I went to Warner Brother’s studio in February on my trip to LA. We had a great time – but I wanted to know how the studio started. This movie that I rented from Netflix – is great. It is an intimate portrait of Albert, Harry, Jack and Sam Warner -- the close-knit siblings who founded Warner Bros. Studios. This movie profiles the clan's humble beginnings – they started with a movie projector and a movie in a theatre with a sheet as a backdrop and chairs from the funeral home next door, breakthrough achievements and lasting impact on American society. Directed by Harry M. Warner's granddaughter Cass, this revealing look at Hollywood's golden years showcases rare photos, classic movie clips and exclusive interviews with relatives and associates. Warner Bros. was a pioneer of films with synchronized sound (then known as "talking pictures" or "talkies"). They also did movies that help to promote social change (prison reform, Nazi Germany, etc). Some movies that they made were Jazz Singer with Al Jolson, Jezebel with Bette Davis, Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart, A Streetcar Named Desire, A Star is Born with Judy Garland, Giant with Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean, Damn Yankees, The Young Philadelphians, My Fair Lady – Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, The Great Race with Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, Bonnie & Clyde, Camelot, All the President’s Men, Goonies, The Accidental Tourist, etc. I could go on and on. Anyone who loves movies should definitely watch this one. I really enjoyed it!!

When I was in LA in February visiting my god daughter - we ended up at the Disney store/restaurant right across the street from Graumann's Chinese Theatre- a week before this picture was taken Johnny Depp & Tim Burton were there promoting Alice in Wonderland - You could actually have a tea party there in the restaurant.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake-Aimee Bender

I just finished this book and it was so good. Very different. This book features a girl Rose who can taste emotions in food. She tastes her mother's dissatisfaction in a birthday cake, can tell that a chef in a French bistro was feeling rushed and sad while making a quiche and even discovers that her mother is having an affair from the peculiar mix of flavors in a roast beef. She feels very burdened by her ability. it is a very interesting read.

Alice in Wonderland

We watched Alice in Wonderland the other night. We were pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. The colors, costumes, and sets were truly beautiful. Tim Burton did do a good job. I also enjoyed Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. She was great. And of course couldn't forget Johnny Depp - as usual he was perfect as the mad hatter. You should definitely watch it !!

How was your Weekend?

How was your weekend - mine was good went to breakfast, did some cleaning and then today - Sunday was kind of a lazy day. Watched Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant - I love that movie. Read some mags and just vegged - good weekend!!

It is about a mother and daughter who come to the big city and try to make it in Hollywood. It takes you behind the scenes with talent managers, acting coaches, directors, auditions you name it. Some make it some do not. Give it a read!
