In the Spotlight - Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and film historian. Mr. Scorsese is widely considered to be one of the most significant and influential American filmmakers of his era, directing such films such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas - all of which he collaborated on with actor and close friend Robert DeNiro.

Did you know that he has been married five times? One of his wives was Isabella Rossellini.

He also directed New York, New York with Liza Minnelli. Because New York New York did not do well it drove Scorsese into a depression and also by this time a serious cocaine habit. It was Robert DeNiro that pulled him out of that and asked him to do Raging Bull. He threw himself into that movie calling it a Kamikaze method of film-making

He did eight movies with his good friend Robert DeNiro.

In the 1990s came Goodfellas, Cape Fear, The Age of Innocent, and Casino. In the 2000s came the Gangs of New York, The Aviator, and Departed. In 2010 he made Shutter Island.

He is truly one of the most influential film makers today. I have always enjoyed his movies.
