Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement today. He gave her his mother's engagement ring, the sapphire and diamond ring that Princess Diana had over 30 years ago. I am so excited for another wedding in England. Where were you 30 years ago next summer? I was anxiously awaiting the wedding of Princess Diana & Prince Charles. My dad got up really early and taped the whole ceremony for me. It was truly a fairytale wedding.

My first memory of you was when I was vacationing with my family in a cabin in Old Forge, NY (First Lake, Hollywood Hills Road) and we were all watching your wedding on a small black and white TV. Needless to say, the color photos seen later were more beautiful.
Your sons have grown to be handsome men and appear to have obtained many of your traits for service to others, including eye candy.
I wish Prince William and Kate Middleton all the best as they will face much scrutiny over the rest of their lives. I think the ring is very beautiful, but full of symbolism. I hope this ring symbolizes the beginning of a joyful union full of happiness for this couple, rather than what is eventually came to symbolize for his parents union.
